What is the difference between contents and liability insurance?

Contents insurance covers your resident's personal property from loss or damage resulting from covered perils. Liability insurance is less familiar to most renters but it can be the most important financially to them, and to you. Subject to the policy terms, liability insurance will cover your residents for unintentional injury or damage caused to another person and their property, as well as for damage to your own apartment community.

What are the policy deductibles?

There is no deductible for resident liability or property damage coverage. The contents insurance deductible is $250 per occurrence.

Is our leasing staff required to sell RegistryTLC® to the resident?

No selling is ever involved so there are no licensing requirements for your staff. We'll see you through every step of the way. Our licensed sales force delivers customized training programs right to your apartment communities. Our representatives are always available for supplemental training and support services when you need them. We also provide a host of resident-oriented brochures and fact sheets that explain RegistryTLC® coverage and benefits to your residents.

How will claims be handled?

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, simply call the Claims Desk at First American Property & Casualty Insurance Company toll-free at 866-654-8800. Claims personnel also can provide assistance in Spanish.

What insurance industry rating has First American Property & Casualty Insurance Company earned?

First American Property & Casualty Insurance Company has earned an "A-" (excellent) rating from A. M. Best. This is a very strong rating, assigned to companies which have, on balance, excellent financial strength, operating performance and market profile when compared to the standards established by the A.M. Best Company. The objective of A.M. Best's rating system is to provide an opinion as to an insurer's financial strength and their ability to meet ongoing obligations to policyholders.
